Dr. Lucie Beaulieu is a Professor in the Department of Food Sciences at Université Laval and Scientific Director of the Institute of Nutrition and Functional Foods (INAF), Canada’s largest food and health research consortium. She also serves as co-director of the Pôle bioalimentaire, an INAF-led initiative supported by the Fonds de recherche du Québec. Her research focuses on valorizing marine biomass through bioprocesses and identifying bioactive molecules, particularly peptides, with applications in health, environmental, and agri-food sectors. She has published 75 articles in international journals and three book chapters, supervised more than 120 trainees across all levels, delivered 65 invited talks nationally and internationally, and secured nearly $30 million in research funding through individual, team, and network grants. A recognized leader, she leads major collaborative initiatives that advance the sustainable use of marine resources and biofood innovation.
