Dr. Kitiya Vongkamjan Aurand is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at Kasetsart University, Thailand, and Head of the Food Safety and Bacteriophage Laboratory. She received her B.Sc. (Honours) in Food Science from the University of Guelph, Canada, and her Ph.D. in Food Science and Technology from Cornell University, USA. An internationally recognized expert in bacteriophage technology, she has over 15 years of experience developing phage-based solutions for antimicrobial resistance (AMR), food safety, animal health, and sustainable agriculture. Her research focuses on controlling foodborne and animal pathogens, including Salmonella, pathogenic Escherichia coli, Vibrio, and Listeria, using bacteriophages across the farm-to-fork continuum. Dr. Kitiya has published more than 70 peer-reviewed articles, three book chapters, and patents (H-index 34). She currently serves as Secretary of the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP) Southeast Asia, promoting global collaboration in food safety, One Health, and innovative antimicrobial alternatives.
